Never shipped a car?
Here’s exactly what happens.
Shipping a car for the first time feels like a leap — you’re handing your vehicle to someone you’ve never met and hoping it shows up. So here’s the whole process, start to finish, with nothing glossed over.
No countdown-timer gimmicks, no “act now” pressure. Just what to expect at each step, what it costs, and when you pay — so you can decide with your eyes open.
Five steps, start to finish.
From the moment you ask for a quote to the day your car rolls off the truck at your door. This is the real sequence — not a sales pitch.
Tell us the two cities and the car
Send us your pickup city, delivery city, the vehicle, and roughly when you’d like it to move. That’s it to get started — no payment, no commitment, no account to create. The more you can tell us (running or not, any timing constraints), the tighter your quote.
A real quote comes back from carriers on your lane
We put your route in front of the licensed carriers who actually run it. Quotes come back from drivers and dispatchers who see your listing — we’re finding you the carrier, not posting your car to an anonymous load board for the lowest bidder.
Review the price and terms — in writing
You get the price, the carrier, and the payment terms up front, in writing, before anything is locked in. Ask anything. If the number or the timing doesn’t work, you walk — no fee, no pressure. When it does work, you confirm and we schedule pickup.
The driver comes to you
The carrier meets you at your pickup address on the scheduled day. Together you walk around the car and fill out a quick condition report — the Bill of Lading — noting any existing marks, with photos. You both sign. That document is your record of the car’s condition, and you’ll use it again at delivery.
Your car arrives — you inspect, then pay
The driver delivers to your destination address. You walk the car against the same condition report from pickup, confirm it arrived as it left, and sign off. For most customers the balance is paid at this point — and then it’s yours again.
The two things everyone worries about.
Money and timing. Here’s the truth on both, without the fine-print games.
💳 When do I pay?
For most customers, the majority is paid at delivery — after you’ve seen the car arrive and inspected it. But it does vary from customer to customer and carrier to carrier, so we won’t pretend there’s one rigid rule.
What never varies: you’ll have the exact payment terms in writing before you commit. No mystery deposits, no charges you didn’t agree to.
⏱️ How fast is all this?
Quotes come in as carriers on your lane see your listing — sometimes within an hour, sometimes longer. Once you book, pickup is usually scheduled within a few days, and transit time depends on the distance of your route.
The honest version: if your move is a few days out, none of this timing is a problem. The earlier you start, the more relaxed the whole thing is.
What protects you.
First-timers worry about the same handful of things. Here’s what’s actually in place for each one.
A Named, Vetted Carrier
You know who’s moving your car — a licensed, insured carrier we’ve vetted, not a mystery bidder off a load board. Real name, real authority, real truck.
Insured Door to Door
Your vehicle is covered by the carrier’s active cargo insurance from pickup to delivery. The condition report you both sign is your paper trail if anything’s ever in question.
Everything in Writing
Price, carrier, and payment terms are confirmed in writing before you commit. Nothing is verbal, nothing changes on you after you’ve said yes.
No-Obligation Quote
Getting a quote costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If the price or timing isn’t right, you walk away — no fee, no hard sell.
Door-to-Door
Pickup and delivery happen at your addresses, not a distant terminal. If a street can’t fit a carrier, the driver arranges a nearby spot and tells you first.
