Never shipped a car? Here’s exactly what happens.
No jargon, no runaround. Five steps from your first quote to your car in the driveway — and a straight answer to everything first-timers worry about.
Five steps, start to finish.
This is the whole process — from the moment you reach out to the moment you sign for your car.
Tell us the two cities and the car
Send us your pickup city, delivery city, the vehicle, and roughly when you want it to move. That’s all it takes to start — no account, no upfront payment.
A real quote comes back
We put your route in front of the licensed carriers who actually run it — not an anonymous load board. You get a real price from a real operator.
Review the price and terms, in writing
You get the price, the carrier, and the payment terms up front, in writing. No bait-and-switch, no surprise fees before you agree to anything.
The driver comes to you
The carrier meets you at your pickup address on the scheduled day. Together you note the car’s condition, load it up, and it’s on its way.
Your car arrives — you inspect, then pay
The driver delivers to your destination address. You walk the car again, confirm it arrived as it left, and pay the carrier directly. Done.
The two things everyone worries about.
“Will I get a lowball quote, then a higher price later?”
No. Your quote comes from the carrier who runs your lane, with terms in writing before you commit. The price you agree to is the price you pay — no load-board bidding war driving it up at the last minute.
“How do I know my car is in good hands?”
You deal with a licensed, insured carrier — a real operator, not an anonymous bidder. You inspect the car at pickup and delivery, and you don’t pay until it arrives as it left.
First-timer questions.
Neither in the usual sense — we’re a carrier-finder. We connect you directly with the licensed, insured carrier who runs your route, so you deal with the operator moving your car, not a middleman marking it up.
You or someone you trust needs to be there at both ends to hand over keys, inspect the car, and sign off. It only takes a few minutes each time.
Open transport is the standard, most affordable choice and fine for almost every vehicle. Enclosed is worth it for classics, exotics, luxury, and collector cars that deserve extra protection.
A small amount (under ~100 lbs, below the window line) is usually fine, but it isn’t covered by the carrier’s insurance and adds weight. Check with your carrier — when in doubt, ship it empty.
We can still move it — just tell us up front that it’s inoperable. The carrier will need a winch and the right equipment, which we factor into the match and the quote.
Wash it (so you can spot any pre-existing marks), leave about a quarter tank of gas, remove toll tags and loose items, and note any existing damage. That’s it.
