Why The East Coast Corridor Works

Two-way traffic.

The I-95 corridor sees the heaviest two-way auto transport traffic in the country — carriers don’t deadhead in either direction because there’s always freight both ways. That keeps prices competitive year-round and means carriers are always running this corridor, not just during peak season.

I-95 Single Highway

Common Questions

East Coast Snowbird FAQ.

What does “East Coast Snowbird” mean?+
East Coast Snowbird is the I-95 corridor running from the Northeast (Boston, NY, Newark, Philadelphia, Hartford, DC) down the East Coast to Florida. This is the highest-volume seasonal auto transport lane in the country — peak southbound traffic in October-November as snowbirds head down for the winter, peak northbound in April-May as they return home for spring/summer.
When should I book my snowbird shipment?+
Book 2-3 weeks ahead during peak season (October-November southbound, April-May northbound). Outside peak, 1 week of lead time is usually plenty. Last-minute peak-season bookings can run 15-25% higher and may have limited pickup window flexibility.
How does Boston nor’easter timing affect winter pickups?+
Boston pickups in November-February need weather flexibility. Nor’easters can shut down carrier operations for 24-48 hours, and carriers won’t load a vehicle in active heavy snow. We coordinate pickup windows around forecasted storm activity so your car isn’t sitting on a trailer in a blizzard. Building 2-3 days of pickup window into your timeline avoids stress when weather hits.
Why is this called “East Coast Snowbird” and not “I-95 Snowbird”?+
The corridor name was updated for URL consistency with our other region pages (Midwest Snowbird, Atlanta Hub, etc.). The page still covers the I-95 corridor specifically — we just renamed the URL slug from “i-95-snowbird” to “east-coast-snowbird” for cleaner naming. Old links automatically redirect to this page.
Can I get the same carrier year after year?+
Often yes — repeat snowbird customers frequently get the same carrier two or three years running if our scheduling allows. Many of our snowbird shippers have a “regular” carrier relationship. Let us know when you book if you’ve used us before and want the same driver.
Do you coordinate with property managers and condo concierges?+
Yes — that’s a core part of the service. Many snowbirds don’t want to fly down just to receive their car. We coordinate directly with your property manager, condo concierge, HOA gate staff, or designated friend/family member to take delivery. Just give us the contact at booking.
