Built By Someone
Who Worked The Phones.
AutoShippingNearMe was founded in 2026 by Maria Millman who has spent nearly two decades inside the auto transport industry — starting in 2007 in regional brokerage during the late-2000s recession, watching the broker layer sit between customers and carriers and take a margin off every move without ever touching a vehicle. ASNM is the version of the industry that should have existed all along: shippers connect directly to the carriers who do the work.
From Inside To Built Differently.
Twenty years inside the industry teaches you exactly where the seams are. ASNM exists because the founder saw them up close every day for nearly two decades and finally built the alternative.
Starting in a regional brokerage.
The founder started in auto transport in 2007 — a regional brokerage during the late-2000s recession, when freight was tight, dealers were unloading inventory, and the industry was being remade from the inside. Years of running loads, working the phones, dispatching drivers, handling claims, and watching every margin get squeezed — first by the recession, then by load boards, then by tech-funded brokers. The pattern was always the same: the broker layer made the money. The carrier did the work. The customer paid for both.

2025
The middleman kept winning.
Over the next decade-plus, the industry didn’t fix itself. It got worse. Load-board brokers took a bigger cut. Tech-funded marketplaces extracted more. Customers got auto-quoted by AI tools that didn’t know the route. Carriers got paid less per mile while diesel got more expensive. The actual operators — the small family-owned carriers who own one truck or twenty — got buried under search results dominated by national broker brands that don’t own a single vehicle. Something had to be built differently.
ASNM launches.
AutoShippingNearMe is family-operated and independently owned. Not backed by private equity. Not part of a broker network. Built specifically to surface the carriers that actually own the trucks and run the routes — and put them in front of the customers searching for their lanes. Started with one anchor carrier (In-N-Out Keys, a veteran-owned Florida Keys specialist), grew city by city across 10 metro markets, and now spans 150+ active routes across the lower 48. The platform you’re reading is the industry built right.
A Platform. Not a Broker.
The terminology in this industry gets blurred on purpose. Here’s exactly what AutoShippingNearMe is, what it does, and what it doesn’t do.
We connect shippers with the actual licensed carriers running their route. Not a quote-comparison site. Not an aggregator skimming load boards. We surface real operators with real trucks.
Independently owned. No outside investors, no national-network affiliation, no broker-conglomerate parentage. The decisions get made by people who answer the phone themselves.
We don’t hold loads. We don’t resell jobs. We don’t add a markup on top of the carrier’s price. Carriers keep the work. Customers pay carrier-direct rates.
Every carrier we feature is verified for active MC authority, USDOT registration, and insurance. Featured Partners are reviewed continually. Paid Advertisers are verified at signup.
In-N-Out Keys.
The first carrier we featured. Still our anchor today.
When ASNM launched, In-N-Out Keys was the first carrier we built a profile around — a veteran-owned, family-operated carrier running a daily Fort Lauderdale to Key West lane and delivering door-to-door to every address in Monroe County. Founded in 2023, they exemplify exactly the kind of operator ASNM was built to elevate: real trucks, real routes, real people answering the phone.
They’re a separate company — their own founders, their own operations, their own equipment — and they’re our current anchor Featured Partner. The story of how ASNM works in practice is, in many ways, the story of how In-N-Out Keys works on the Overseas Highway every single day.
